Method for making our own Christmas Chocolates:
Start by preparing your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Next, break up your chocolate bars, and melt them. You can use do this in two simple ways;
- Place your chocolates in a microwave-proof bowl and microwave on low for approximately 10-15 seconds and stir in-between cooking intervals. Be careful not to overcook.
- OR: Place your chocolates into a glass bowl, or measuring cup, and place on top of a pot with boiling water, stirring constantly until your chocolate has melted. Be sure not to get any water into the chocolate.
Allow your melted chocolate to cool slightly, before spooning or piping your chocolate onto your prepared baking sheet.
Once melted and cooled, spoon your chocolate onto your prepared baking sheet, 2 inches apart. This is the fun part for the kids to do with you!
Then comes the addition of your toppings! The French would top the chocolates with all sorts of lovely goodies, so gather your desired toppings, and sprinkle on top. You can do a variety of toppings and create many variations of chocolates. The gummy bears are a kid-approved choice!
Allow to cool, and enjoy! These are great treats for any time, or as giving away as gifts!
